In a world where we consume information faster than ever before, attention has become one of our most valuable resources. Social media offers us stories in seconds, headlines replace conversations, and global events often feel
Cities are often treated as mere backdrops in cinema—beautiful settings that frame the stories of their characters. But some cities possess such a distinctive identity that they become storytellers themselves. Seoul is one of those
For decades, mainstream cinema has been driven by familiar formulas—predictable story arcs, market-tested genres, and commercial expectations. While blockbuster films continue to entertain millions, some of the most exciting developments in contemporary filmmaking are happening
Cinema has always been described as a universal language, but few forms of storytelling embody that idea as powerfully as films that speak without words. In an increasingly interconnected world—where cultures, languages, and experiences constantly
Creating a compelling story in just a few minutes is one of the greatest challenges in filmmaking. Unlike feature-length productions that have the luxury of time, short films must capture attention immediately, establish emotional stakes

About Us
At Seoul International Short Film Festival, we aim to become a place, a community, for unique, indie artists, for films/web-series/scripts that explore new approaches to the world of narrative and form. As our name suggests, we welcome submissions from all over the world as we strive to connect filmmakers, producers, screenwriters, actors, editors, music composers and etc. through a shared platform.
It is important for us to see how films depict the human condition and focus on the issues the world is facing today. Additionally, films that reflect the life of minorities, refugees and immigrants, the LGBT community, and women (and their everyday struggles) are of utmost important to us.
We are an online film festival (held monthly), and due to concerns about film piracy, we may not be able to screen films online, but our respected jury members will watch all submissions and discuss them, then they select the most outstanding achievements in the categories listed below.
At Seoul International Short Film Festival, we will try our best to introduce and promote the films/web-series/scripts submitted, and we hope our festival can help artists reach a wider range of audience, and be able to get better budgets for their future projects after their current projects are recognized and valued for their quality and creativity.
